Why?
Theoretically we could include all countries and all languages in the whole world on Mastodon.green, but practically it cost too much to do that. Both in time and money. Having a well defined region with a reasonable number of languages is one way to keep costs under control. Often it’s better to focus. Our scope 3 CO2 calculations may for example become very complicated if we become worldwide.
Regional mastodon server
Mastodon.green is a regional homeserver for people in EU, USA and 15 nearby countries. With an account on Mastodon.green you can follow people and connect with friends on other regional servers. Other regional homeservers can be found in this list: https://joinmastodon.org/communities/regional
